Recently Staged Readings

In June this year, NTC held a series of readings/workshops at NoHo Actors Studio in Los Angeles to explore possible productions. The plays/events being considered were:

VICTORY by Howard Barker
Cast: Susan Clark, Cerris Morgan-Moyer, Pamela Salem, Michael O'Hagan, Julian Stone, Robin Gammell, Russell Milton, Binky van Bilderbeek, David Ross, Robert Pike Daniel, Steve Keyes & Trader Selkirk.

GEORGE GALLOWAY V US SENATE
Cast: Michael O'Hagan, Steve Keyes, Trader Selkirk.

MITZI'S ABORTION by Elizabeth Heffron
Cast: Ed Asner, Susan Clark, Dale Dickey, Cerris Morgan-Moyer,
Jenna Macari, Walter Wong, Maurice Godin & Michael O'Hagan.
(A planned co-production with a major US theatre.)

PATIENT #1 by Donald Freed

The first Reading of a new play by Donald Freed was held on March 20th. Freed's other plays include SECRET HONOR (filmed by Robert Altman, with Philip Baker Hall), CIRCE & BRAVO (Faye Dunaway) and VETERANS DAY (Jack Lemmon and Michael Gambon). The play was directed by David Payne, with David Clennon, Mitchell Ryan, Ben Sainsbury and Trader Selkirk.

ACROSS FROM THE GARDEN OF ALLAH by CHARLES WOOD
U.S. Premiere

Following a hugely successful run in London’s West End, this play is set in Los Angeles' Chateau Marmont Hotel, as a British Screenwriter and his wife are brought to California to rewrite a script with unexpected consequences.

THE TRUTH & OTHER FICTIONS by TREVOR GRIFFITHS
U.S. Premiere

Post war Iraq. Coalition construction workers are called in to seal up a religious shrine from potential looters, but they may be covering up more than holy relics.

STILLBORN LOVER by TIMOTHY FINDLEY
West Coast Premiere
